Know what you expect & what is expected from you!
When you register with a staffing firm (DEC or any other), you are NOT applying for a specific position. You ARE listing your availability for employment with the recruiter.
A good recruiter will then ask & listen. The questions are used to determine what employment opportunity may fit your career goals. Be honest with your recruiter.
This process works best when a recruiter knows what you want, what skills you have, and what your potential is.
With this information, a good recruiter will "look" for an available position matching your goals. (This is where you get to "apply" for a specific position)
It is important to stay in touch with your staffing firm, but not too often. Your recruiter DOES need to know that you are still interested in hearing about upcoming job opportunities.
Calling in once per week will usually be enough and most of the time, a simple voice mail message will suffice. When calling in your availability to voice mail, do NOT always expect a return call. Your recruiter WILL reach you WHEN they are aware of a position which you may be interested in AND qualified for.
The certified staff at DEC HealthCare Personnel knows that it is a Full Time Job to look for a Full Time Job.
